Bursting at the Seams

They we’re bursting at the seams in their home and needed my help! This is the story of Shirley and Kerri. Shirley has been a long-time client of mine. She and Kerri were growing out shirley-and-kerri-fam-picof their home. It was crowded and they need a bigger place. Their family consisted of the parents, 2 kids, 2 dogs and a couple of cats. Their goal was to maximize their profit so that they could reinvest that into the next home.

The first thing that I needed to do was help Shirley and Kerri get their home ready for sale. I look at homes in the same way that a doctor looks at their patients. Before he knows how to treat someone, he must first diagnose their issues based on their symptoms. Then he can write the prescription—medicine, diet, exercise or any combination. Doctors will also sometimes recommend a specialist. If you have eye problems, they will likely refer you to an optometrist.

I visited their home and we talked for a while and they led me through the house showing me everything good and bad. The home did need some work. My clients had very little money to work with because all their cash was tied up in their home’s equity. I had to craft a solution that fit their needs and their limitations.

First I came up with a list of things that would make the property perfect. Then I rated them based on necessity versus desirability.  Some of my recommendations were handled by my clients themselves saving them a lot of money and drastically improving the home.

The 2nd thing I did was bring in one of my star team members, my photographer Kyle Murphy.  He kitchentakes the most amazing pictures that showcase the home’s visual qualities. These photos tell the true story of the home.  This time was no different. The quality of the pictures was outstanding and attracted a ton of attention for the property including the accepted offer.

The home sold in 7 days for $15K more than the neighbor’s home that was both larger and more updated. In fact, we set the new price point in the neighborhood. It also sold faster than any other homes around it.

Thanks to my proven, documented approach, Shirley and Kerri got top dollar for their home. I’m just so appreciative and thankful for the opportunity to have been part of it—It’s my purpose.
